The challenge

Located on a greenfield site within Newmarket Precinct in Alberton, our client’s vision was to build a premier retail centre which would span 35,000 sqm, accommodating more than 50 retail tenants.

The JLL approach

JLL provided end-to-end project management services, overseeing every stage of the development. This included project initiation, planning and programming, stakeholder management, procurement of works packages, construction oversight up to project handover.

Bringing it to life

The Town Square at Newmarket is a sustainable, open-air retail centre. The centre features abundant public spaces and utilises eco-friendly materials such as timber composite cladding. Additionally, solar panels are installed to minimize the carbon footprint and the use of natural lighting is maximised to reduce energy consumption.

The retail centre is anchored by several leading retailers, offering a wide range of retail options such as home décor, sports, fashion, gifts, beauty, health and pharmaceutical services. Additionally, there are several al-fresco dining options and a beautifully landscaped children's play park.
